COOL SEASON GRASSES
COOL SEASON GRASSES
(i.e. Bluegrass, Fescues, Ryegrass) are best able to add root mass and store and process nitrogen in the spring and fall when soil temperatures are between 50 and 65 degrees.
- During the summer months when daytime temperatures are above 85 degrees and overnight temperatures are above 70 degrees, soil temperatures rise which triggers the plant to shed roots and slow its metabolic processes.
- Extended heat or drought stress can and often does trigger cool season grasses to enter a period of dormancy.
- It is for these reasons that we recommend reduced applications of nitrogen during the summer months.
- For cool season turf grasses, we recommend between 1.4 and 2.2 pounds of nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. pergrowing season (depending on growing zone).
WARM SEASON GRASSES
COOL SEASON GRASSES
(i.e. Bermuda, Saint Augustine, Zoysia, Centipede) are best able to add root mass and store and process nitrogen in the summer when soil temperatures are above 65 degrees.
- During the summer months when daytime temperatures are above 85 degrees and overnight temperatures are above 70 degrees, soil temperatures rise which triggers the plant to add roots and facilitate its metabolic processes.
- Extended drought stress can and often does trigger warm season grasses to enter a period of semi-dormancy.
- In tropical and sub-tropical zones, warm season grasses typically do not enter a period of dormancy.
- In transition zones, Bermuda and Saint Augustine will enter a winter dormancy period. It is important to note, that although the turf is winter dormant, the soil is still active.

16-21-2 GreenePOP™ Starter Fertilizer:
16-21-2 GreenePOP™ Starter Fertilizer is engineered to deliver all that grass seed needs to get growing quickly and start its life on the right footing. The combination of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, Humic Acids and sea kelp delivered by GreenePOP™ will prepare the soil around the seed for quick germination as well as feed the newly rooting turf.
16-21-2 GreenePOP™ can also be used for Phorphorus deficient soils or used in a balanced fertility program on all turf types.
GreenePOP™ can be applied directly on top of seeds at time of planting applied pre-plant, or incorporated with a topdressing medium.
GreenePOP™ is intended to be used as a starter fertilizer for newly seeded or sodded turf.
GreenePOP™ can also be used as a phosphorus amending product.
GreenePOP™ contains 2.31 lbs of phosphorus per gallon. Soil test for phosphorus deficiency prior to use.
0-0-25 GreeneKick™ Lawn Fertilizer
0-0-25 GreeneKick™ Lawn Fertilizer is a clear to gray, liquid concentrated formula which provides 100% soluble potassium to your plants. It is derived from high quality Potassium Carbonate which helps correct potassium deficiency in plants, as well as improve stress tolerance. It can be applied through foliar and root feeding to provide dual efficacy during growing season to achieve faster results. It does not contain chlorides which usually cause salt buildup, and has a low salt index to avoid over saturation of soil. It is recommended for turf, ornamentals and trees.
Apply when potassium deficiency is present or as a regularly scheduled potassium application as part of a fertility program.
7-0-0 GreeNe EfFect™ Lawn Fertilizer
7-0-0 GreeNe EfFect™ Lawn Fertilizer is a simple and economical way to correct chlorosis issues in turf and ornamentals. Our iron is chelated with citric acid to form an organic chelation bond. This bond allows for a consistent greening effect on chlorotic plants and provides a deep green color to turf. The low level application rate makes this product ideal as an additive to summer time application of fertilizer, or as a stand-alone product for certain applications during the growing season.
